“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

We all know the saying, but sometimes getting enough fresh fruits and veggies in our diets is easier said than done. Between busy days and tight wallets, it can be difficult to prioritize nutritious produce on our shopping lists.

With the help of partners and farmers markets across the state, a new program is making it easier to bring home more fresh fruits and vegetables. Double Up Food Bucks Arizona helps Arizonans with SNAP benefits buy more fresh produce while also supporting local farmers.

How does it work? If a recipient of SNAP benefits spends up to $10 on their SNAP Quest Card at a participating farmers market, that shopper will receive another $10 in Double Up Food Bucks tokens to buy fresh, Arizona-grown fruits and veggies. These tokens can be used during the same shopping trip, or saved for later use. Shopping at farmers markets also helps the community by supporting local Arizona farmers, making Double Up Food Bucks great for wallets and local businesses. What’s not to love?
